Nearly all of my usual shows are now on hiatus and I have no idea what to watch. I still have Once Upon A Time, Sanctuary, the occasional new ep of CSI, and it is hockey season but The Walking Dead, The Sing-Off, Mythbusters, et al...are now off or repeats. I don't get it.  What is it about this series of movies that make them so popular?  I've asked around and have gotten mixed responses.  Everything from the stars are 'hot', which they are NOT, to great stories (again...NOT) to vampires and werewolfs are 'hot' (NOT) to the 'CGI' is cool.

It's sad when riots take place following sports championships.  For the second time (the first coming in 1994 when the Rangers beat the Canucks) Vancouver has suffered a riot after a Stanley Cup loss.  So many injured, 10 seriously.  Vandalism and fires rampant.  Many people believe that Vancouver is one of it not THE most beautiful city in North ( Read more... )

Well, we're officially into our second heatwave (any stretch of three days or more with temps in the 90's and above) of the year.  97 on Tuesday, 99 yesterday and today they're calling for 100, all with heat index ratings of over 100.  It was so hot yesterday that when I took the dog out to do his 'business', you could actually smell the heat in ( Read more... )
